Questions & Anwsers

Here you will find some questions I have about the 1.6 EL. I will add anwser as soon as I will find them. Please feel free to post me your questions and if possible your anwsers to.

Q: When does the VTEC system activate ?
A: According to the technical manual the VTEC system change the cams at 5200 RPM.

Q: Does the electronic injection adjust to high octane gaz ?
A: The 1.6 engine is slightly different from the Honda CIVIC Si VTEC, it has an anti-nock sensor and it could adjust to higher grade gasoline.

Q: How does the ABS fonction ?
A: How many sensors is there ? Is there a minimal speed for the ABS to activate ? please help me.

Q: Does the 195/55 R15 tires good for winter ?
A: First I think that "all season" tires should be label "not for real winter". In real winter condition there is nothing like a good winter tire. Secondly, I finaly bought 195x60x14 Hakkapeliitta Nokian tires. After driving them one winter, I'm very satisfied iwth them.

Q: Can I put 14" wheels for the winter?
A: Sure. I personnaly have 195x60x14 Hakkapeliitta Nokian tires mounted on 14" wheels for the winter.

Q: What does the "EL" stand for ?
A: I've received a few suggestions :
- Entry Level
- Entry class Luxury
- Economy Luxury
- Elegant Luxury
- European Luxury
But I did not received any official confirmation with some kind of reference.

If you have any new materials on the 16. EL (pictures, articles, movies, anything),
