In Brief

The Bachelor of Business Administration – Human Resources Management program includes:

• 12 fundamentals of management courses
• 16 to 17 courses specialized in human resources management
• 1 to 2 complementary training courses

A Dynamic Pedagogical Approach

The program meets the requirements of the Ordre des CRHA by focusing on systemic perspectives in human resources as well as the individual, the organization, its ecosystem and on the approaches and processes used in human resources management analysis and intervention.

It also includes other relevant knowledge that is required to develop a global vision of the organization, such as accounting, finance, operations management, marketing and information technology.

The program also emphasizes the development of skills and abilities such as communication, decision making, teamwork, autonomy, using new technologies, and openness to the world. A variety of learning strategies are used: case analyses, debates, oral presentations, simulations, practical assignments, and many more.

Objectives

• Acquire the essential knowledge specific to each administrative science discipline.
• Acquire specialized knowledge and skills specific to professional practice in human resources management.
• Develop agility with current and emerging information technology specific to the business world.
• Acquire the knowledge and skills required to make ethical and responsible business decisions.
• Become aware of the intercultural and international dimensions of the business world.
• Learn to communicate effectively while respecting others.
• Learn to work effectively in teams in a variety of contexts.
• Learn to propose management strategies that are adapted to various professional situations.

Studies Profiles

Honours Profile

The honours profile (webpage in French only) puts students on a fast track to the graduate programs. It consists of an agreement of 12 credits (including 0 to 6 undergraduate credits and 6 to 12 master’s credits, based on the agreement) entered into between a bachelor’s program directorate and a master’s program directorate. The master’s-level courses are contributory to both programs.

This bachelor’s program leads to graduate studies, including several specialization tracks in the Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Master of Science in Administration (MSc).

Build on the credits you have acquired! If you hold a technical DCS (diploma of college studies – available in the Québec school system only), Université Laval may recognize your prior learning and credit some of your courses. This could help you receive your bachelor’s degree more quickly.

Integrated Pathway to the Master’s Level

The integrated pathway allows you to undertake master’s-level coursework that contributes to both the bachelor’s and master’s programs, subject to a formal agreement between the directorates of the 2 programs in question. This program also provides students with an opportunity to complete up to 3 for-credit and paid corporate human resources internships. For Whom Is This Program Intended?

The Bachelor of Business Administration – Human Resources Management is intended for anyone who is creative, independent, rigorous and open-minded and who likes to collaborate with others and work as a team, solve problems and obtain concrete results. Ideal candidates should also have strong listening, analytical and adaptation skills, and demonstrate sound judgment, respect, empathy, people skills, leadership, diplomacy and be able to communicate easily in both French and English.
