About us
The Insurance and Risk Management Journal is one of the oldest Canadian outlet for theoretical and empirical research on the topics of insurance and risk management. It is edited by the Faculty of Business Administration at Université Laval located in Quebec City.
The Journal benefits from a network of world class collaborators. With its origins in Quebec, the Insurance and Risk Management Journal is Francophone at its core, but also hosts publications in English. It provides a forum for the transfer of knowledge to an international audience, both academic and professional, allowing the convergence of ideas on a wide range of topics related to insurance and risk management.
Insurance and Risk Management Journal welcomes theoretical as well as empirical contributions in risk management and insurance economics. There are no submission fees. Submitted papers are subject to an anonymous refereeing process.
Editorial Policy
Insurance and Risk Management Journal is published twice a year. The Journal contributes to raising awareness of the principles and applications of insurance and risk management, from a theoretical or practical point of view. The Journal focuses on the Canadian market as well as on the international insurance environment, the legal aspects of insurance, and the history of insurance products or markets.
Submissions of academic papers are evaluated by members of the Journal’s committees or by external reviewers whereas empirical article submissions are evaluated by members of the Journal’s Management Committee. The review process and the final decision are the responsibility of the Journal’s Director.
