{"id":12365,"date":"2020-12-16T10:00:00","date_gmt":"2020-12-16T15:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.fsa.ulaval.ca\/nouvelles\/alumni-meet-yvon-charest\/"},"modified":"2020-12-16T10:00:00","modified_gmt":"2020-12-16T15:00:00","slug":"alumni-meet-yvon-charest","status":"publish","type":"nouvelles","link":"https:\/\/www.fsa.ulaval.ca\/en\/news\/alumni-meet-yvon-charest\/","title":{"rendered":"FSA ULaval Alumni Meet with Yvon Charest"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>On December 14, 2020, Mr. Yvon Charest, noted philanthropist and director at the National Bank of Canada, met with 6 FSA ULaval alumni who now hold positions as managers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Martin B\u00e9dard, Director, Consulting and Underwriting, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aga.ca\/en\/\">AGA Group Insurance<\/a><\/li><li>Simon Bouchard-Bellavance, Associate Investment Advisor, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbfwm.ca\/\">National Bank Financial\u2013Wealth Management<\/a><\/li><li>Karine Breton, Senior Consultant, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.national.ca\/en\/\">NATIONAL Public Relations<\/a><\/li><li>Jean-Simon Campbell, Vice-President, <a href=\"https:\/\/dactylocommunication.com\/\">DACTYLO communication<\/a><\/li><li>Marylou Dufour, Consultant, <a href=\"https:\/\/brioconseils.com\/en\/\">Brio Conseils<\/a><\/li><li>M\u00e9lanie Raymond, Chief Executive Officer, <a href=\"https:\/\/carnaval.qc.ca\/en\">Carnaval de Qu\u00e9bec<\/a><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Mr. Charest shared his management philosophy and his priority management strategies with those in attendance. He also discussed his vision of social engagement, the societal role of managers in the community and employee mobilization. Participants had an opportunity to ask the guest of honour a number of questions and thus gained invaluable insights from his experience in business and philanthropy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>About Yvon Charest<\/strong> <\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Mr. Charest was the President and Chief Executive Officer at <a href=\"https:\/\/ia.ca\/individuals\">Industrial Alliance<\/a> from 2000 until his retirement in 2018. He is very actively involved with humanitarian organizations in the Qu\u00e9bec City region and has supported <a href=\"https:\/\/www.centraide-quebec.com\/\">Centraide Qu\u00e9bec<\/a> in all its operations for 20 years. In 2012, he became a member of the Ordre des m\u00e9c\u00e8nes de la Ville de Qu\u00e9bec and in 2013, he received the Chair\u2019s Award from United Way Centraide Canada. In 2016, he became an Officer of the Order of Canada, and was appointed to the Acad\u00e9mie des Grands Qu\u00e9b\u00e9cois in 2018.
