{"id":12387,"date":"2021-03-19T08:00:00","date_gmt":"2021-03-19T12:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.fsa.ulaval.ca\/nouvelles\/new-centre-expertise-corporate-governance\/"},"modified":"2021-03-19T08:00:00","modified_gmt":"2021-03-19T12:00:00","slug":"new-centre-expertise-corporate-governance","status":"publish","type":"nouvelles","link":"https:\/\/www.fsa.ulaval.ca\/en\/news\/new-centre-expertise-corporate-governance\/","title":{"rendered":"A New Centre for Expertise in Corporate Governance"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Last November, the Centre d\u2019expertise en gouvernance de soci\u00e9t\u00e9s (Centre for Expertise in Corporate Governance) was officially launched in collaboration with the Coll\u00e8ge des administrateurs de soci\u00e9t\u00e9s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Its mission: to develop research activities on issues related to corporate governance in order to fuel the development and dissemination of knowledge in this field and contribute to the improvement of practices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In concrete terms, this Centre will focus on two types of issues: the<strong> functioning of governance structures<\/strong> (board composition, sound practices, independence, etc.) and the <strong>concerns of directors<\/strong> (strategy, risk management, IT, equity, diversity, inclusion, etc.). Its intervention approaches will be descriptive, scientific and applied.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>A Well-Implemented Team<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fsa.ulaval.ca\/en\/expert\/jean-francois-henri\/\">Jean-Fran\u00e7ois Henri<\/a>, PhD, FCPA, FCMA, ASC., has been selected to lead this new entity. Mr.&nbsp;Henri also holds the positions of Full Professor, Director of the School of Accounting and Pedagogical Director of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cas.ulaval.ca\/\">Coll\u00e8ge des administrateurs de soci\u00e9t\u00e9s<\/a> (in French only).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The steering committee is composed of:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Kaouther Bessrour, Office of the Vice Rector, Research and Innovation, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ulaval.ca\/en\">Universit\u00e9 Laval<\/a><\/li><li>Chantale Coulombe, Coll\u00e8ge des administrateurs de soci\u00e9t\u00e9s<\/li><li>Hugo Lacroix, <a href=\"https:\/\/lautorite.qc.ca\/en\/general-public\">Autorit\u00e9 des march\u00e9s financiers<\/a><\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fsa.ulaval.ca\/en\/expert\/josianne-marsan\/\">Josianne Marsan<\/a>, Vice Dean of Research and Innovation, FSA ULaval<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fsa.ulaval.ca\/en\/expert\/marie-josee-roy\/\">Marie-Jos\u00e9e Roy<\/a>, Full Professor, FSA ULaval<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>In April, the Centre\u2019s team will announce the research projects selected as part of its initial call for projects.
