To find out more about this capstone activity, refer to the outline for the course titled&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ulaval.ca\/les-etudes\/cours\/repertoire\/detailsCours\/mng-6525-competing-in-a-global-arena-an-integrative-project.html\">MNG-6525 Competing in a Global Arena&nbsp;: an Integrative Project<\/a>.&nbsp;Competing in a Global Arena: An Integrative Project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-31fe96bf-2339-4afd-89ce-3a8b9e12dcea\">Each of the following elements must be determined with the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.fsa.ulaval.ca\/personnel-expert\/denis-j-garand\/\">professor leading the activity<\/a>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\" id=\"block-7dea13b5-c2a3-421b-a876-ed18112c726c\">\n<li>objectives;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>content;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>methods;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>steps to complete the project;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>time frame;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>supervision.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-ee90a48a-6435-4646-a087-e18fdc37e005\">However, you must think about the issue you want to examine more closely beforehand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-baseul-block-accordeon baseul-accordeon-blue\"><h2 class=\"toggler-title-wrap\"><button aria-expanded=\"false\" class=\"toggler-button\" aria-controls=\"Is-theintegrativeprojectaninternship\" id=\"Is-theintegrativeprojectaninternship_label\"><span class=\"toggler-title\">Is the integrative project an internship?<\/span><\/button><\/h2><div id=\"Is-theintegrativeprojectaninternship\" role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"Is-theintegrativeprojectaninternship_label\" class=\"toggler-panel\" hidden>\n<p>No. It is more of a supervised course in which you are required to find an organization with which to carry out a consultancy mandate in connection with international activities. This project is an opportunity for you to apply the knowledge you have gained, in addition to sharing your specific skill set with the organization you have selected.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-baseul-block-accordeon baseul-accordeon-blue\"><h2 class=\"toggler-title-wrap\"><button aria-expanded=\"false\" class=\"toggler-button\" aria-controls=\"What-arethevariousphasesoftheintegrativeproject\" id=\"What-arethevariousphasesoftheintegrativeproject_label\"><span class=\"toggler-title\">What are the various phases of the integrative project?<\/span><\/button><\/h2><div id=\"What-arethevariousphasesoftheintegrativeproject\" role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"What-arethevariousphasesoftheintegrativeproject_label\" class=\"toggler-panel\" hidden>\n<p>Submitting a proposal to the professor and, subsequently, to the organization you have targeted, that includes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>an assessment of the internal and external environments;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>an analysis of the potential strategies (actions and their implementation);<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the formulation of realistic and applicable recommendations;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the development of practical means to implement your recommendations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>To achieve this, you will have to discuss regularly with the professor in order to start on a solid footing and make sure your integrative project progresses adequately.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If such a mandate cannot be carried out as part of the capstone activity, undertaking a corporate internship related to international issues may be an option under exceptional circumstances. The internship must first be approved by the professor before your official enrolment in the course titled MNG-6525 Competing in a Global Arena: An Integrative Project at least 1 month before the start of the semester. You would also be responsible for all of the steps involved in planning and carrying out such an internship.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-baseul-block-accordeon baseul-accordeon-blue\"><h2 class=\"toggler-title-wrap\"><button aria-expanded=\"false\" class=\"toggler-button\" aria-controls=\"Do-Ihavetofindsomeonetosupervisemyintegrativeproject\" id=\"Do-Ihavetofindsomeonetosupervisemyintegrativeproject_label\"><span class=\"toggler-title\">Do I have to find someone to supervise my integrative project?<\/span><\/button><\/h2><div id=\"Do-Ihavetofindsomeonetosupervisemyintegrativeproject\" role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"Do-Ihavetofindsomeonetosupervisemyintegrativeproject_label\" class=\"toggler-panel\" hidden>\n<p>No, the FSA ULaval professor leading the course will take care of approving and supervising your integrative project.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-baseul-block-accordeon baseul-accordeon-blue\"><h2 class=\"toggler-title-wrap\"><button aria-expanded=\"false\" class=\"toggler-button\" aria-controls=\"What-istheroleoftheprofessorwhoissupervisingme\" id=\"What-istheroleoftheprofessorwhoissupervisingme_label\"><span class=\"toggler-title\">What is the role of the professor who is supervising me?<\/span><\/button><\/h2><div id=\"What-istheroleoftheprofessorwhoissupervisingme\" role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"What-istheroleoftheprofessorwhoissupervisingme_label\" class=\"toggler-panel\" hidden>\n<p>The professor\u2019s role and responsibilities consist of:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>guiding you in the definition of a problem and establishing a methodology;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>approving your project;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>helping you resolve any difficulties inherent to your project;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>supervising your written work;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>evaluating your final report.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-baseul-block-accordeon baseul-accordeon-blue\"><h2 class=\"toggler-title-wrap\"><button aria-expanded=\"false\" class=\"toggler-button\" aria-controls=\"What-doesthereportconsistof\" id=\"What-doesthereportconsistof_label\"><span class=\"toggler-title\">What does the report consist of?<\/span><\/button><\/h2><div id=\"What-doesthereportconsistof\" role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"What-doesthereportconsistof_label\" class=\"toggler-panel\" hidden>\n<p>The report usually contains the following sections:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Definition of the problem;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Review of literature;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Description of the methodology;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Analysis of the results;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Recommendations\/conclusion;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Bibliography.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>It is usually 30 to 50 pages in length (Times New Roman 12; line spacing 1.5), based on the number of credits for the capstone activity (6, 9 or 12 credits).<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-baseul-block-accordeon baseul-accordeon-blue\"><h2 class=\"toggler-title-wrap\"><button aria-expanded=\"false\" class=\"toggler-button\" aria-controls=\"When-shouldIenrolinthecapstoneactivity\" id=\"When-shouldIenrolinthecapstoneactivity_label\"><span class=\"toggler-title\">When should I enrol in the capstone activity?<\/span><\/button><\/h2><div id=\"When-shouldIenrolinthecapstoneactivity\" role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"When-shouldIenrolinthecapstoneactivity_label\" class=\"toggler-panel\" hidden>\n<p>You can enrol in the capstone activity once you have accumulated 24 credits (including the course titled&nbsp;MNG-6059&nbsp;Dynamics of Global Strategy). The capstone activity is offered in all 3 semesters (fall, winter and summer).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you need any assistance during the enrolment period, please use the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ene.ulaval.ca\/monportail-inscription\">Syst\u00e8me d\u2019inscription par assistance<\/a>&nbsp;(assisted enrolment system &#8211; available in French only). We will process your enrolment as soon as possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;professor leading the activity&nbsp;will contact you before the start of the semester.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-baseul-block-accordeon baseul-accordeon-blue\"><h2 class=\"toggler-title-wrap\"><button aria-expanded=\"false\" class=\"toggler-button\" aria-controls=\"How-longwillittakeformetocompletethecapstoneactivity\" id=\"How-longwillittakeformetocompletethecapstoneactivity_label\"><span class=\"toggler-title\">How long will it take for me to complete the capstone activity?<\/span><\/button><\/h2><div id=\"How-longwillittakeformetocompletethecapstoneactivity\" role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"How-longwillittakeformetocompletethecapstoneactivity_label\" class=\"toggler-panel\" hidden>\n<p>This activity takes 4 to 7 months to complete on average. If you hold a study permit, you may benefit from an additional semester by enrolling in the course titled&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ulaval.ca\/etudes\/cours\/tre-6810-poursuite-de-la-maitrise-professionnelle-1\">TRE-6810<\/a>&nbsp;Poursuite de la ma\u00eetrise. This option will allow you to keep your status as a full-time student for immigration purposes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The number of credits for the capstone activity determines how deeply you must address the problem. Generally speaking, the analysis and drafting of the report should take 270 hours to complete for a 6-credit activity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The course titled&nbsp;MNG-6525&nbsp;Competing in a Global Arena: An Integrative Project is demanding and requires a significant commitment on your part. We therefore recommend that you limit your other activities. Please keep in mind that passing the capstone activity within a reasonable period of time is essential for you to receive your Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-baseul-block-accordeon baseul-accordeon-blue\"><h2 class=\"toggler-title-wrap\"><button aria-expanded=\"false\" class=\"toggler-button\" aria-controls=\"Can-thecapstoneactivitybecompletedasateam\" id=\"Can-thecapstoneactivitybecompletedasateam_label\"><span class=\"toggler-title\">Can the capstone activity be completed as a team?<\/span><\/button><\/h2><div id=\"Can-thecapstoneactivitybecompletedasateam\" role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"Can-thecapstoneactivitybecompletedasateam_label\" class=\"toggler-panel\" hidden>\n<p>No, this activity must be completed individually.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-baseul-block-accordeon baseul-accordeon-blue\"><h2 class=\"toggler-title-wrap\"><button aria-expanded=\"false\" class=\"toggler-button\" aria-controls=\"Do-IhavetobeinCanadatocompletethecapstoneactivity\" id=\"Do-IhavetobeinCanadatocompletethecapstoneactivity_label\"><span class=\"toggler-title\">Do I have to be in Canada to complete the capstone activity?<\/span><\/button><\/h2><div id=\"Do-IhavetobeinCanadatocompletethecapstoneactivity\" role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"Do-IhavetobeinCanadatocompletethecapstoneactivity_label\" class=\"toggler-panel\" hidden>\n<p>Ideally, yes. The&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.fsa.ulaval.ca\/personnel-expert\/denis-j-garand\/\">professor<\/a>&nbsp;will schedule 1 or 2 meetings with you in person at FSA ULaval. You are also required to attend at least 2 in-person group sessions at FSA ULaval. For exceptional reasons, the professor may authorize remote supervision.
