Every modern Web browser offers this browsing mode, which allows you to browse on your computer in all confidentiality. This mode does not save either your history or your passwords and ignores the cache, usernames, extensions, and parameters memorised from the websites.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, it is important to note that private browsing (InPrivate) does not guarantee a total confidentiality on the internet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To use private browsing (InPrivate)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/en-us\/microsoft-edge\/browse-inprivate-in-microsoft-edge-cd2c9a48-0bc4-b98e-5e46-ac40c84e27e2\">Use private browsing in Edge<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/support.google.com\/chrome\/answer\/95464?hl=en&amp;co=GENIE.Platform%3DDesktop&amp;sjid=17269729718504789874-NA\">Use private browsing in Chrome<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/support.mozilla.org\/en-US\/kb\/private-browsing-use-firefox-without-history#:~:text=Firefox%20is%20set%20to%20remember%20history%20by%20default%2C,private%20browsing%20mode%20setting.%20...%204%20Restart%20Firefox.\">Use private browsing in Firefox<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/support.apple.com\/en-ca\/guide\/safari\/ibrw1069\/mac\">Use private browsing in Safari<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-baseul-block-accordeon baseul-accordeon-red\"><h2 class=\"toggler-title-wrap\"><button aria-expanded=\"false\" class=\"toggler-button\" aria-controls=\"Deactivating-anExtensionintheBrowser\" id=\"Deactivating-anExtensionintheBrowser_label\"><span class=\"toggler-title\">Deactivating an Extension in the Browser<\/span><\/button><\/h2><div id=\"Deactivating-anExtensionintheBrowser\" role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"Deactivating-anExtensionintheBrowser_label\" class=\"toggler-panel\" hidden>\n<p>Extensions in the Web browsers are small modules or Apps allowing you to personalize the appearance or the functionalities of the browser (e.g.: ads blocker, translation module, etc.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Although these extensions can improve the browsing experience, they can also prevent certain pages or systems from working (e.g. : Impossibility to go to the next page in a questionnaire in monPortail).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-style-group-notif-red is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<p><strong>NOTE <\/strong>\u2013 When it is necessary to fix the problem quickly, favour private browsing.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>To fix the situation or to prevent the problem repeating itself, it might be necessary to deactivate or to delete the problematic extension. To identify the problematic extension, deactivate one extension at a time and check if the problem is solved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/en-us\/microsoft-edge\/add-turn-off-or-remove-extensions-in-microsoft-edge-9c0ec68c-2fbc-2f2c-9ff0-bdc76f46b026\">Deactivating or deleting an extension in Edge<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/support.google.com\/chromebook\/answer\/2589434?hl=en&amp;sjid=17269729718504789874-NA\">Deactivating or deleting an extension in Chrome<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/support.mozilla.org\/en-US\/kb\/disable-or-remove-add-ons\">Deactivating or deleting complementary modules in Firefox<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/support.apple.com\/en-ca\/102343\">Deactivating or deleting an extension in Safari<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-baseul-block-accordeon baseul-accordeon-red\"><h2 class=\"toggler-title-wrap\"><button aria-expanded=\"false\" class=\"toggler-button\" aria-controls=\"Using-theGuestMode\" id=\"Using-theGuestMode_label\"><span class=\"toggler-title\">Using the Guest Mode<\/span><\/button><\/h2><div id=\"Using-theGuestMode\" role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"Using-theGuestMode_label\" class=\"toggler-panel\" hidden>\n<p>A user\u2019s profile in the Web browser allows the personalization of the environment and to reuse it on various devices by simply logging in. This profile contains data such as favorites, cookies, browsing history, saved passwords, and browser settings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, if you use profiles in your browser, it is possible that you encounter problems displaying some websites, even in private browsing, since all the elements of your profile are still present in that window.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Both Chrome and Edge offer a guest mode to isolate your Web browsing from your profile.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Guest mode in Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge is essentially a guest profile for your browsing sessions. When you are using the guest mode, the browser will not load your main browsing profiles (the ones containing your browsing history, the browser\u2019s personalization, etc.).
