In-Person Courses<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

In-person courses refer to the traditional classroom learning delivery mode where you have to physically go to the campus every week to attend the classes with the other students and the teacher for the entire duration of the activity. This delivery mode fosters interaction among all participants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Exams for these courses take place under supervision on the campus only.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Distance Learning Courses<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The distance learning delivery mode allows you to take a course from another location. The course is taught in a virtual space and can be delivered in synchronous or asynchronous mode, depending on the course and the nature of its content. This delivery mode prioritizes access to the training by minimizing the amount of travel required.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Exams for these courses take place under supervision and can be taken either on the Universit\u00e9 Laval campus in Qu\u00e9bec City, or at one of the exam centres located in Qu\u00e9bec, New Brunswick, Ontario or elsewhere on the planet under the supervision of a referee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This delivery mode therefore provides opportunities to meet the other students and the teacher in person, while reducing the amount of travel required.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Comodal Courses<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Comodal courses are offered simultaneously in both in-person and distance learning delivery modes, thereby allowing students to choose whether they want to attend the class in person or from another location. This delivery mode therefore provides flexibility, as students can choose the location that is most convenient for them for each class.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Exams for these courses take place under supervision and can be taken either on the Universit\u00e9 Laval campus in Qu\u00e9bec City, or at one of the exam centres located in Qu\u00e9bec, New Brunswick, Ontario or elsewhere on the planet under the supervision of a referee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Synchronous or
Asynchronous?<\/mark><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Each delivery mode can be offered in either synchronously, asynchronously, or both. Here are the main implications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Synchronous<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Synchronous activities are held according to a set schedule. In-person activities fall under this delivery mode, as do some distance learning activities. You can therefore benefit from a set schedule and a period in which to actively participate in exchanges and discussions with the other participants.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Asynchronous<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Asynchronous activities offer recordings and content that can be viewed at any time. This therefore makes it easier to adapt the courses to your schedule and go back to view material from previous classes.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
