Résumé
Construction of Indigenous arranged AI Artefacts: Integrating Indigenous Worldviews into Computational Decision-Making Systems.
The rapid advance of technology into society has opened up critical discussion around cultural veracity as an embedding during the production of Information Technology (IT) focused digital artefacts. For Indigenous communities, the alignment between tribal knowledge systems and emerging technologies hinges on understanding tribal perspectives involved during their creation, highlighting the importance of trusted cultural frameworks being deployed in IT development. This presentation conveys recent activities involving design science research during the construction of these types of digital IT artefacts.
In this way, trust is not viewed as a singular concept but rather as a contextual view built from an appreciation of Indigenous worldviews during the development of such digital artefacts. By recognizing and including these perspectives, developers, researchers, and communities may be better positioned to create more culturally responsive digital artefacts.
