Frank Pons
Dean
Frank Pons has held the position of full professor in the Department of Marketing at FSA ULaval since 2007. He holds a PhD in Marketing from Concordia University (2004) and an MBA from Université Laval (1997). On July 1, 2020, he became the 15th Dean of FSA ULaval.
Frank Pons is very involved in university life and the business community, and has notably held the position of director of the Carré des affaires FSA ULaval-Banque Nationale. He also serves on boards of directors of several organizations, including the Business Schools Association of Canada, the Collège des administrateurs de sociétés, Entrepreneuriat ULaval, the Université Laval Trade Missions, cégep François-Xavier Garneau and the Université Laval Rouge et Or soccer club.
Internationally recognized for the excellence of his research in the field of marketing, he has published several articles in prestigious journals such as the International Journal of Business Studies, the Journal of Consumer Psychology, the International Journal of Research in Marketing and the Journal of Service Research, and is a member of several editorial committees. He also heads the Observatoire international en management du sport, which brings the university community closer to the business of sports management through its various activities.
Highly skilled in explaining complex issues in simple terms, Frank Pons is a regular guest on local and international media to comment on various issues related to marketing and consumer behaviour.

Margaret Schomaker
Vice Dean of Academics, Student Affairs and International Accreditations
Ms. Schomaker is an associate professor in the Department of Management and holds a Ph.D. in Strategy and International Management with a minor in Cognitive Science from the University of Minnesota. Her primary teaching domains and research interests focus on the role of language and culture in the processes of international organizations, as well as the linguistic and cultural integration of immigrants in businesses. Ms. Schomaker has held the position of Associate Dean of Academic and Student Affairs since 2017.

Pierre-Sébastien Fournier
Vice Dean of Research and International
A professor in the Department of Management for more than 20 years, Mr. Fournier holds a doctorate in industrial relations from Université Laval (Ph.D.).
Specializing in human resources management and occupational health and safety management, Pierre-Sébastien is also involved in the Centre of Expertise in Occupational Health and Safety Management (CGSST). He also participated in several committees for improving faculty programs and negotiating working conditions.

Jacques Renaud
Faculty Secretary
Mr. Renaud is the Director of the Department of Operations and Decision Systems and holds a PhD in Business Administration from Université Laval. His main teaching areas are distribution, warehousing, transportation, operations management and supply chain management, and his research domains focus on reducing greenhouse gas emissions in motor freight transportation through innovations in logistics. Mr. Renaud also serves as Co-Director of the Interuniversity Research Centre on Enterprise Networks, Logistics and Transportation (CIRRELT) and Director of the Centre for Innovation in Sustainable Logistics and Supply Chains (CILCAD). From 2012 to 2020, he held the position of Associate Dean of Research at the Faculty.

Stéphane Dorais
Executive Director
Mr. Dorais has been with FSA ULaval for over 21 years. He initially served as Coordinator of the APTI Help Desk and the Web Development Service, all while completing an MBA in Information Technology Management. In 2014, he became the Director of Pedagogical and Technological Services. He has been the Executive Director of FSA ULaval since 2022, where he helps implement the Faculty’s mission and strategies.
In order to provide a work environment that is respectful of its personnel and students, and to ensure the smooth running of day-to-day activities, FSA ULaval has adopted a set of guidelines with regard to its operations.
Code of Ethics
The Code of Ethics (PDF – in French only) defines the guiding principles that govern the actions of members of the Faculty, both in terms of the application of Université Laval policies and dealing with special situations. The document serves as a framework for action and reflection for each Faculty member.
Council for Faculty Advancement
The mandate of the Council for Faculty Advancement (CAF) is a direct reflection of FSA ULaval’s mission and value statements. By providing constant and strategic support in its relations with the business community, the CAF also works to improve the Faculty’s competitiveness and expand its outreach.
Mission
- Ensuring that graduating students are well prepared to enter the labour market
- Advising the Dean so as to ensure that the Faculty meets the need for qualified manpower, both in terms of newly graduating students and professional skills development of working managers.
- Supporting the Faculty in its projects
Mandate
- Providing support and advice, both individually and collectively, to the Dean and members of FSA ULaval’s management team
- Providing the Faculty with an outside look on issues and opportunities in the business world that could have an impact on academic programs and research activities
- Supporting the development and implementation of the Faculty strategic plan, mostly with regard to aspects for which the Dean requires an outside opinion.
- Supporting the development of competencies among students, professors, personnel and members of FSA ULaval’s management team through individual and collective initiatives
- Promoting Faculty projects, namely through networking, referrals and overseeing files and financing processes
FSA ULaval is part of a very select group of business schools that hold 2 international quality accreditations: AACSB International, awarded by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (1995), and EQUIS, awarded by the European Foundation for Management Development (2008).
FSA ULaval was the first non-English-speaking institution to receive the AACSB International accreditation.
As part of our ongoing efforts to expand our quality standards, we went one step further in 2018: the Faculty became a signatory member of PRME, a United Nations-supported initiative to train tomorrow’s responsible management leaders.
