UL Email Exchange
As soon as you are admitted, you will receive an institutional email address in the following format: firstname.lastname.##@ulaval.ca.
All Université Laval services use this email address exclusively to contact you.
Good to know
The configuration of multifactor authentification (MFA) is required to access, configure and use your ULaval email.
Email address validity period:
Automatic deletion at the 4th consecutive semester without course enrollment, or at the 6th semesters following graduation, if there is no activity (no outgoing emails)

Outgoing message size limits (with attachments):
33 MB to Université Laval recipients
10 to 33 MB to external recipients (e.g. Gmail)
The email service of a recipient outside of UL may have different limits. These limits may be affected by the capacity of the network.
There are 3 ways
to access your email
- Using the icon in the upper right corner
- Authenticate yourself:
- User name: IDUL@laval.ca
- Password: NIP
- Validate your identity for MFA
Tips
How can I empty the recycle bin?
Via the Web interface:
- Right-click on Deleted items
- Select Empty folder
The files contained in the recycle bin should be included in the calculation of the quota. It is important that you empty the recycle bin on a regular basis.
How to recover deleted items
Via the Web interface:
- Right-click on Deleted items
- Select Recover deleted items
- Select the files you want to recover
- Click on Recover in the bottom right-hand corner of the window
