ULaval Identification
Once you accept an offer of admission, the Registrar’s office will send you your IDUL via email. The latter is made up of 4 or 5 letters, derived from your name and last name, and generally followed by 0 to 3 numbers.
WARNING – IDUL@ulaval.ca IS NOT your ULaval email address.
IDUL and PIN Management
You need to know your IDUL and your ULaval password (PIN) when you log into the ULaval systems. IDUL is used as a username in most Université Laval (ULaval) systems. It is used as follows:
- Username: IDUL or IDUL@ulaval.ca
- Password: your NIP
You have to create a PIN to be able to identify yourself:
- Favour a special authorized character that will be easy to type on various devices (mobile phones, computers, etc.)
- Avoid using your last name, name, or IDUL in your PIN as this will not be accepted.
NOTE – Waiting time of 30 min during the attribution of a new PIN before it becomes functional on all systems

- It is used as username in most systems
- IDUL@ulaval.ca corresponds to the account and not to the ULaval email address
- There is a waiting time of 30 min during the attribution of a new PIN before it becomes functional on all systems
- In your preferred Web browser, go to the following page https://monportail.ulaval.ca/gestion-mot-de-passe/
- In the Password management page, click on Recover (NOTE – page only available in French)
- Enter the required information
- Click on Recover. An email will be sent to you with your IDUL
NOTE – If the email address is not valid anymore or if the birthdate does not correspond, you have to communicate with the Bureau du registraire (Registrar’s office)
- In your preferred Web browser, go to the following page https://monportail.ulaval.ca/gestion-mot-de-passe/
- Click on Reset (NOTE – page only available in French)
- Enter the required information
- Validate the email address associated with your file
- Click on the button Send an email if the email address is valid
WARNING – If the email address is not valid anymore or if you don’t have access to it anymore, you have to communicate with the Bureau du registraire (Registrar’s office) - Open the email received in your personal email inbox and click on the link
- Attribute yourself a new PIN
NOTE – The criteria for the PIN will appear below when you click on the Password box
- In your preferred Web browser, go to the following page https://monportail.ulaval.ca/gestion-mot-de-passe/
- Click on Modify
- Sign in:
- Username: IDUL@ulaval.ca
- Password: PIN
- Attribute yourself a new PIN
NOTE – The criteria for the PIN will appear below when you click on the Password box
Tips
To update your personal email address in your file, you have to communicate with the Bureau du registraire (Registrar’s office). Once the modification in your ULaval file is completed, you can recover your IDUL or attribute yourself a new password (PIN).
To validate your PIN, use the Passe-Partout FSA application.
WARNING – You have to modify the Domain field from FSA to ULaval
