Une grande conférence du 100e et une médaille Palasis-Prince pour Édouard Philippe
Wednesday May 15th, 2024
In collaboration with the Port of Québec, the Association internationale des villes et des ports (AIVP) and the EM Normandie business school, the Faculty had the privilege of hosting a breakfast-conference on May 15, featuring Édouard Philippe, president of the AIVP and Mayor of Ville du Havre, France, as well as academic experts and leaders from the business world.
This event was an opportunity to hold captivating discussions on innovative perspectives in port management and sustainable development, as well as the future of ports and synergy between cities, universities and ports.
As a mark of our appreciation, Mr. Philippe was awarded the first Palasis-Prince medal by the Dean in recognition of his outstanding commitment to sustainable development and innovation in the port industry. This medal is a prestigious award that was initiated in commemoration of the Faculty’s 100th anniversary. With this gesture, the Faculty underscores Mr. Philippe’s professional contribution to an economic sector that is vital to the city of Québec. As a key figure in the development of the port industry and the economic growth of port cities as well as a promoter of a shipping lane management model, he is a source of inspiration for its development. The Faculty also wished to celebrate the close ties that have been created through his numerous visits to Québec and Université Laval.

We also wish to extend our warmest thanks to Pierre-Luc Gosselin, Director of Business Intelligence at the Port of Québec; Leandro Coelho, Full Professor of Transport Logistics at FSA ULaval; Olivier Faury, Associate Professor in Maritime Transportation at the EM Normandie Business School; Jacques Renaud, Full Professor and Department Head, Operations and Decision Systems at FSA ULaval for their contributions to this major conference commemorating FSA ULaval’s 100th anniversary.
