In recent years, the world has seen major and significant changes for businesses: increasingly globalized markets and competition, reduced product life cycles and the convergence of technologies, and customer bases that are better informed and increasingly demanding and changing. Other factors could be added to this list, such as changes in values regarding social responsibility and sustainable development, and the need for better ethics in making strategic decisions.
