Avoid scheduling conflicts

At the start of the semester, you must make sure that there are no exam schedule conflicts with any of your courses in any faculty.

Where Can You Complete your
Course Enrolment?

The software allowing to make your course enrolment varies depending on whether or not you have preparatory coursework to complete. To find out if you have preparatory coursework, check your admission offer in monPortail.

Without preparatory coursework

*During enrolment, if a course is blocked, you will need to use the Système d’inscription avec assistance.

With preparatory coursework to complete or underway

*Please allow 24-48 hours between the time you accept your offer of admission and the time you use the registration system.

How waiting lists for courses work

You can put your name on a waiting list (in French only) when both of the following conditions are met:

  • a course section is full;
  • a waiting list is available.

When a course section is full, you usually have the option of putting your name on a waiting list, as well as for several other sections of the same course.

When a place frees up, it is assigned according to the following principles:

  1. If you have not reached the maximum number of credits allowed at enrolment, you will be given a place in a section for which you are on a waiting list; your name will be withdrawn from the waiting lists for any other sections of this course.
  2. If the place you are given creates a scheduling conflict with a course already in your schedule, you will be enrolled despite that conflict; you will therefore be responsible for managing that conflict.

In the event that a place becomes available for you, you will receive an important message (in French only) and an email (in French only) informing you that you are now enrolled in the course. Based on your notification preferences (in French only) for the item Inscription aux cours, you may also receive a notification in monPortail.

Please note that you are responsible for withdrawing or dropping a course in monPortail if you no longer wish to be enrolled in that course.

You are not officially enrolled in the course when you are on a waiting list. No information is given regarding your place on the waiting list and you are not guaranteed a place before the start of the semester.
