FSA ULaval Alumni Meet with Yvon Charest

On December 14, 2020, Mr. Yvon Charest, noted philanthropist and director at the National Bank of Canada, met with 6 FSA ULaval alumni who now hold positions as managers.

Mr. Charest shared his management philosophy and his priority management strategies with those in attendance. He also discussed his vision of social engagement, the societal role of managers in the community and employee mobilization. Participants had an opportunity to ask the guest of honour a number of questions and thus gained invaluable insights from his experience in business and philanthropy.

About Yvon Charest

Mr. Charest was the President and Chief Executive Officer at Industrial Alliance from 2000 until his retirement in 2018. He is very actively involved with humanitarian organizations in the Québec City region and has supported Centraide Québec in all its operations for 20 years. In 2012, he became a member of the Ordre des mécènes de la Ville de Québec and in 2013, he received the Chair’s Award from United Way Centraide Canada. In 2016, he became an Officer of the Order of Canada, and was appointed to the Académie des Grands Québécois in 2018. He is also involved with Université Laval in his role as a Grand Chevalier du Cercle de la Rectrice and a member of the Cent-Associés.
