Friday June 7th, 2024

On June 1, 2024, at the annual conference of the Administrative Sciences Association of Canada (ASAC), FSA ULaval’s International Entrepreneurship Research Centre was honoured to award its first prize for Best Paper in International Entrepreneurship.

This prestigious prize was awarded to Arron Mark Fraser, Jeff Young and Paulette Cormier from Mount Saint Vincent University for their remarkable paper entitled Transforming, Emerging and Developing Economies’ Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises Internationalization: A Review of the Literature and Future Research Agenda.

This outstanding paper presents a summary of the literature on the internationalization of SMEs in transforming, emerging and developing economies over the period from 2005 to 2023. The study examines the principal theories and methodologies used, identifies facilitating factors as well as internal and external obstacles, and analyzes their impact on the SME internationalization process. It is also praiseworthy for its proposals for future research in this critically important field.

The International Entrepreneurship Research Centre wishes to extend its warmest congratulations to the winners for their significant contribution to the body of knowledge in and the development of international entrepreneurship.
