A First Successful Summit for the IG Wealth Management Chair in Financial Planning

On October 29, the first Financial Planning Summit (website in French only) was held at the Québec City Convention Centre.

On the initiative of the IG Wealth Management Chair in Financial Planning (website in French only) and its Chairholder, Stéphane Chrétien, this event hosted more than 150 attendees from the industry.

At the opening of the public symposium, attendees had an opportunity to hear Mr. Charles Tanguay, Vice-President of Sales and Finance at Ameublements Tanguay (website in French only), speak about the topic of business transfers – a much-appreciated testimonial on the challenges of generational business succession.

Two panels completed the day’s busy program. The first panel dealt with the financial, human and managerial aspects of transferring an SME and featured Maripier Tremblay, Stéphane Bourgeois and Étienne Drouin. The second panel addressed the taxation and legal implications of business transfers with Caroline Marion, Dominique Bigras and Bruno Dumontier.
