FSA ULaval Continues to Shine on the CPA Order’s Common Final Examination (CFE)

Last September, the Québec CPA Order held its Fall 2022 Common Final Examination (CFE) (web page in French only). The CFE is a critical step in a candidate’s pathway to the highly sought-after designation of Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA). The CFE is held over 3 days, twice a year, simultaneously across Canada.

A total of 79 FSA ULaval accounting students passed this examination on their first try. To add to this impressive result, 2 students also received additional honours. Camille Rhéaume received a gold medal from CPA Canada for achieving the highest score in the province. Anne-Gabrielle Simard, meanwhile, made it on the Québec and Canadian Honour Roll, in recognition of the candidates with the best performances nationwide.

This remarkable performance by FSA ULaval students is the result of, among other things, their own personal effort, the quality of the teaching in both the bachelor’s program and the DESS in Accounting, and especially the meticulous preparation by all of the individuals involved. Congratulations to all for this resounding success!

About the CPA Order’s CFE

The CPA Order’s CFE evaluates the candidates’ skills in financial reporting, management accounting, auditing and certification, strategy and governance, as well as finance and taxation. Candidates must also demonstrate solid leadership, communication, teamwork and ethical skills.
