In-Person Activities Make a Powerful Comeback at FSA ULaval
Tuesday September 6th, 2022
After a 2-year global pandemic, it is wonderful to see a return to normal. In the last few days, FSA ULaval has served as a fine example, as in-person activities resumed for the Fall 2022 semester.
Here is a quick look at some of the recent activities that showcase the sense of excitement at FSA ULaval.
Welcome sessions and courses at the Palasis-Prince Pavilion
Already, back-to-school activities are a great example of the return to normal activities. In-person welcome sessions for undergraduate students and a similar session for master’s without dissertation, DESS and master’s microprogram students were filled to capacity.
In addition, Université Laval offered several in-person appointments (web page in French only) from September 6 to 8, including information booths, a festive happy hour and yoga. Students had every reason to come and discover FSA ULaval and the campus.
It is worth noting that, this fall, FSA ULaval is welcoming nearly 10,000 students. With roughly 80% of pre-pandemic activities once again available in person, the Palasis-Prince Pavilion will certainly be bustling with activity!
The return of international students
The lifting of many measures to fight COVID-19 also means that FSA ULaval can reconnect with its international students, more than 1,000 of whom will be among the Fall 2022 student cohort.
Some 200 of these international students, who come to us from 25 countries, attended Welcome Days on August 31 and September 1. The Welcome Days were an opportunity for these newcomers to get to know their school environment and take some time to enjoy skating, sample some poutine, and get a small preview of Québécois culture.
Our Executive MBA continued to run right through summer
Another sign that things are getting back to normal: the 12th cohort of our Executive MBA (for executives and managers in practice) completed its summer training session at Babson College in Boston. A long-awaited component of the program, it could finally be held in person again this summer.
The program’s 13th cohort is now full.
A welcome return, still with full flexibility
It goes without saying that FSA ULaval is delighted to welcome all of this liveliness back in its surroundings. Although more in-person courses are now offered, several delivery modes adapted to the needs of each student are still available.
Distance learning, hybrid delivery modes and more are available in several of our programs, providing you with the opportunity to study in a way that works for you and other aspects of your life.
Happy back-to-school to everyone!
