Starting the Year on the Right Foot: A Record-Breaking Performance at the 2023 Jeux du commerce (JDC)

Even before the start of the winter semester, the FSA ULaval student community has already made a name for itself! A delegation from FSA ULaval participated in the 2023 Jeux du commerce (JDC) at HEC Montréal from January 6 to 9. Our participants’ results are not merely impressive: they broke records!

Not only did the FSA ULaval delegation win the competition, it did so by smashing the all-time points record at the JDC. Quite an accomplishment, considering that this was the 35th edition of the event! The previous record, dating back to 2015, was also held by the Faculty.

To garner top honours, the FSA ULaval delegation achieved no fewer than 14 podium finishes, which ranked the team among the top 3 delegations in all 3 of the competition’s components.

For the return to in-person mode of the largest inter-university competition in Eastern Canada, what a great privilege it was to see the goal shared among these 84 delegates, driven and motivated by the same desire to bring home the Cup, become a reality. This is what happens when rigour, perseverance and fun come together! Hats off to all and a special thank you to the CCFSA and its president, Laurence-Olivier. To honour the promise made if this goal was achieved, I will be getting my school bus driver’s licence. The process will begin very soon!

The FSA ULaval Competition Committee (CCFSA) (web page in French only) came home with the Committee of the Year award and Martin Dubé also received the prestigious Guillaume Samson award, in recognition of his 10 years of involvement and tireless commitment as the person in charge of the Faculty delegation.

Faculty management would like to congratulate the entire delegation, the CCFSA, the volunteers, and the coaches for so effectively representing the Faculty on the national scene.
