Two FSA ULaval Students Receive Relève Awards from the Association of Québec Women in Finance (AQWF)
Tuesday April 19th, 2022
Every year, the Association of Québec Women in Finance (AQWF) holds the Les Talenteuses Awards Ceremony. A networking opportunity, this event also recognizes individuals and initiatives that have contributed to the advancement of women in the field of finance in Québec. These awards are given out in 6 different categories.
Among these are the Relève awards, which are given out to 4 students who have shown great potential and remarkable academic achievements. In addition to the awards, these young women in finance also have an opportunity to undertake an internship at one of 3 leading establishments in the field of finance in Québec: Desjardins, the Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) or the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec.
In the 2022 edition of this awards ceremony, 2 out of 4 winners were FSA ULaval students: Alexie Harnois and Lisa Mighri. They will each undertake an internship at the RBC and Desjardins, respective.
Alexie Harnois is completing a Bachelor of Business Administration degree, with a Financial Planning concentration. She believes this award and internship are an excellent way to round out her education at FSA ULaval:
“In its efforts to promote the professional development of women in finance, the AQWF is a pillar for our industry. The Relève award is a wonderful recognition of my educational pathway that is coming to an end at Université Laval. I wish to thank the RBC for giving me the opportunity to develop my expertise in financial planning by undertaking an internship at their institution.”
Lisa Mighri is also completing a Bachelor of Business Administration degree, with a Finance concentration. She has this to say about the impact of this award:
“The AQWF is a powerful symbol, one that represents the strong influence of women in a male-dominated industry. This opportunity will make it possible for me to evolve as an inspired and inspiring woman. I would like to thank Desjardins, my employer since the age of 17, for having believed in me and giving me this Relève award. My dream career is in institutional investment and this internship with Desjardins Global Asset Management (DGAM) will allow me to gain experience in this field about which I am so passionate.”
The Les Talentueuses 2022 (website in French only) Awards Ceremony, which will honour all of the award winners, will be held on May 12, 2022. Congratulations to all of these individuals who are making a difference and making their mark, and particularly to Alexie Harnois and Lisa Mighri.
