FSA ULaval Graduation: A Ceremony Brimming with Emotion

Thursday December 9th, 2021

The graduation ceremony for the 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 cohorts was held at the Québec City Convention Centre on November 29, 2021.

Over 650 undergraduate and graduate students were gathered for this occasion, accompanied by loved ones who came to share this important and historic moment. In fact, this was the very first time in the history of Université Laval’s graduation ceremonies that 2 cohorts were honoured.

The ceremony was the opportunity to officially elevate Christiane Germain to the rank of Doctor Honoris Causa. Visibly quite moved, the Co-Founder and Co-President of Germain Hôtels delivered a vibrant address to an already won-over audience. The businesswoman with a particularly inspiring career journey reflected on the tremendous pride she felt to be honoured in Québec, a city for which her family holds a deep attachment.

Dean Frank Pons delivered a message focused on the future, urging the new generation of managers to let themselves be guided by excellence, boldness, openness, integrity and social conscience in order for us all to move forward as a society.

Mace bearers Philippe Paquin-Piché and Gaultier Pasols concluded this celebration by speaking on behalf of the two cohorts. They underscored the ongoing efforts of the graduates over the last 18 months and congratulated the FSA ULaval team, which has supported them throughout their academic journey.
