Information Security Governance: GFT and FSA ULaval Join Forces to Provide New Support for Education and Research

Tuesday December 7th, 2021

On Thursday, December 2, FSA ULaval formalized the creation of the GFT Fund totalling $125,000 to support education and research on information security governance.

GFT is a consulting firm specialized in digital transformation in the financial and insurance sectors. The firm also has an insurance expertise centre in Québec.

Responsibility for the Fund was entrusted to Hager Khechine, Full Professor at the Department of Organizational Information Systems (OIS), and Co-Director of FSA ULaval’s Research Centre on Business and Information Technology (CeRTIA).

“With this donation, GFT reaches out to the students at FSA ULaval’s Department of OIS so they can achieve their full potential in the field of information security governance. With the teaching activities and internships that will be funded by this donation, a gateway for a reciprocal exchange of knowledge and expertise will be created, for the benefit of both GFT and Université Laval.”- Hager Khechine

The funds invested will serve, among other things, to promote excellence in research and the development of educational activities, and encourage the Faculty to be a key player in the dissemination of scientific knowledge and good professional practices in information security governance.
